IMPORTANT INFORMATION WHEN DOWNLOADING OUR PC TO PHONE SOFTWARE

There are two ways you can do this:
1. Click on ADV to Phone software, and the system will install our software automatically to your computer. As you progress, there will be a message that says “this is not verified”, click okay and continue. As the installation progresses, .NET FREMEWORK software will come out for you to install. This software takes a while to be installed, so you must have patience. Once this .NET Framework is installed click on ADV PC to Phone software again and install it. You must click on ADV PC to phone software again in order to complete the installation process. Once the installation is complete you are ready to start talking, just enter your Log in and password information and start talking right away. You can call anyone in any part of the world from your computers.

2. Alternatively, you can run the .NET Framework software on your computer by following this link first prior installing the ADV Software: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-au/netframework/default.aspx. Once the installation is complete, then you can click on the ADV PC to Phone Software on our website: www.advtelecom.net and follow the prompts. Use your log in information that is automatically sent to your email address when the account is created to log in and access all our advanced features.

HOW TO SET UP INTERNET PHONE ADAPTERS
ADV Telecom supports any phone adapter. Some of the adapters we have set up information are as follows:
  

  • Linksys PAP2
  • Linksys PAP2T


The Linksys PAP2 or PAP2T is an Analog Telephony Adapter (commonly referred to as ATA), which allows for the connection of one or two "normal" telephones to a VoIP provider using the SIP protocol. To configure the device to work with ADV Telecom go to the Line 1 (or Line 2, since the PAP2 is a two line device)  configuration menu. 

You need to fill out the User ID an Password fields, these fields are the Login and Password fields of your ADV account. The value of the option Register Expires should be set between 50 and 100. To connect the device the option Line Enable should be set to Yes. The option Preferred Codec should match the value of the option Primary Codec. This is to ensure codec compatibility.

To check the status of the registration go to the Info menu of the device administration panel and check the Registration State field. It will say Connected if the device was configured


You have to follow the steps below in order to be sure that the device has been properly configured:

1. Make sure you have ADV Telecom Log in and Password.

2. You need to make sure you have a fast Broadband/ADSL/DSL internet connection

3. You need to obtain the current IP address of the Internet Phone Adapter or device. Connect a telephone to the Phone1 or Phone2 Port of the Phone Adapter.
 
4. Use your telephone’s dial pad to access to the interactive voice response menu. Follow the following steps:

  • Press the * (star) key four times.
  • Wait until you hear “configuration menu”. Please enter option followed by # (Pound) key or hang up to exit”. Press 110#
  • You will be prompted with the IP address, for example, 10.1.1.

5. Use your PC to configure the settings of the internet phone adapter and ADV Log in and Password. Go to internet explorer and type the above IP address in the URL.

6. By now, you should be able to see manual page of the internet phone.Select “Admin Login”.

7. If your telephone is connected to Phone 1 of the internet Phone adapter, select “Line 1”. In the Proxy area enter 69.64.51.31. Line enable click “yes”. Sip Port click “5060”.Diplay Name, enter your ADV log in. Password: enter your ADV given password. Register click “Yes”. Register Express, click ID “3600”. User Id. Enter your log in information from ADV. Use Auth ID, click “Yes”.

8. Click “Save settings” at the bottom of the page. You will be prompted with this message “PAP2 is updating your configuration. Unit may reset. You will be redirected to the configuration page in 5 seconds”. If not, you can click Here to return to the configuration page”.

9. Ensure that you have connected to the internet. Upon successful configuration, you will see “ONLINE” in the Registration State.

10. The green Phone 1 LED on the front panel of the Phone Adapter is lit. Pick up the telephone and you should now have a dial tone. Your ADV Phone is ready to be used.
