1. Why do I have to use ADV Telecom?

The KEY reason of using our service is BIG SAVINGS when compared to traditional phone lines or other broadband phone company, you can save over 80% per month on your current bill. The reason is because we do not have lots of overhead. Since we do not have lots of overhead costs, we pass these savings to you, our Dear customer. Another major advantage is our portability and flexibility. With ADV Telecom, you can get phone service and start talking anywhere in the world as long as you have broadband internet access. This means, you can move anywhere, anytime you want. In terms of flexibility, If you are frequent traveler or you are relocating to a new place, you will no longer pay for set up and other charges which most Telcos charge, as we do not charge you anything for this.

Simply log into your account and go to "Profile".  You can change your Password including your personal details if you so desire.

3. Do I have to pay deposit on the ADV Phone Adapter?

If you live in Australia, USA, Canada or UK there is no charge for the phone ADV phone adapter provided you stay with ADV for 12 months. You will only pay for shipping of this device to you provided you are with ADV for period of 12 months. If you cancel before the 12 months period, we will charge you for cost of the device which is $80. We will only charge your credit card for shipping of the device to you.

We do not charge any set up fee.

6. What do I need to have to use your service?

You need ADV phone Adapter and fast broadband internet connection including Cable or ADSL. Sometimes you may also use our service with dial-up internet connection but we always advise our customers to use Broadband internet connection.

7. Is it very complicated to install?

Our service is very easy to use.  Just  connect your existing phone to your ADSL/cable modem using our adapter. Then plug in the device to a power socket and you're ready to start talking! It takes only a few minutes to setup. If you have your own device you have to follow our configuration information depending on the type of device you use.

8. Will my Broadphone line work if my computer is turned off?

ADV Telecom Broadband phone  does not rely on your computer to function. Very honestly with ADV Broadband phone you don't even need a computer for your phone service to work.

9. Can I surf or browse the Internet and use the phone at the same time?

Of course, Your Broadband phone service has nothing to do with your computer.

10. Can I make 911, 000 or other emergency numbers?

Yes, basic 911 service is available in US and Canada. Please note there are some important differences between 911 dialing with VOIP and traditional phone lines. In Australia, you can  dial 000 for emergency contact.

11. How long does it take to get my phone line activated?

You will need to get our ADV Phone adapter or bring your own device, which we will send to you in about 24-48 hours after we receive your application. Shipping takes about 3-10 days.

17. What happens if I move to a new place or change my address?

If you move, no problem. Just unplug your phone and your adapter and plug it into your new home's high speed Internet line and you will get a dial tone immediately. Anyone who calls you at your number will get through to you at your new location. You do not need to configure anything. There is no need for any technician visits. There are no moving fees. Nothing to pay at all! Where you moved to, if you need the city’s phone number we will be able to do this for you. You can have as many lines as you want.

18. How to setup your own adapter?


This is a guide for your reference. You must reset your box before you program it. Here is how to reset your adapter depending on what adapter you use.

Sipura or Linksys

To reset your box, press * * * * to enter administrative mode then press 7 3 7 3 8 # and then 1 to confirm the change.

ATA 1000
 
To reset your box, press * * 00 to enter administrative mode
 
then press 7 9 8 9 8 # and then 1 to confirm the change.


Insert all the necessary cables into your phone adapter, including a CAT5 cable from the router where your computer is plugged into and a phone onto the phone jack of the adapter

Wait until all lights are solid.

Access the phone and dial * * * * or * * 0 0. Wait for
 
administrative mode confirmation voice

Press 1 1 0 # or 2 0 # to get the IP of the ADV’s adapter eg.

19. Can I have more than one phone line?


Yes, you can add as many phone numbers as you want, including toll free numbers of  any country  to your line as you wish but there is a charge for each additional number.

20. When do I get billed?


You will be billed once a month, on the anniversary date of when you initially signed up. Monthly fees are charged in advance while long distance fees are charged at the end of your billing cycle. You will get your invoice by email at the end of each month.

21. How do I view details of my calls?


You can view details of your account by logging in to your account and enter the date you want.  Automatically all calls made will show.

22. How do I cancel my account?


You can cancel anytime by contacting our Customer Service. If there is any pending balance your credit card will be charged for this balance. If there is early termination fee you will be charged this fee.

23. Must I activate 911, 000 and other Emergency numbers?


In US and Canada, it is advisable to activate the 911 emergency number. Also due to the regulations and law by CRTC, 911 emergency calling is mandatory for end users. The end user and only the end user must input their information such as their name and address to activate 911.



In Australia, your ADV Broadband phone (Business and Residential)  is automatically set for you to access Emergency 000 number. In the UK we are working to connect to 999, and we will keep you posted.

24. What type of speed will I have from my Internet Service Provider? 


Ask your internet service provider if at least 128 kb/s for both upload and download speeds. If they confirm this to you your voice quality will be very clear and comparable to fixed lines.
